Photographs from real tours.
Every picture here was taken on a tour, by Adil or by the people he was guiding. Nothing is bought from an agency and nothing is staged.
Every photograph on this page was taken during a tour, by Adil or by the people he was guiding. None comes from a stock library, apart from a few excursion landscapes marked as such. That is deliberate: you see the places as they are on an ordinary day, with the real light and the real crowds, rather than a retouched version.
You will find the medina and its lanes, the palaces and medersas, street food and Jemaa el-Fna after dark, the souks and their craftsmen, then the south: Agafay, the Atlas, Ourika, Ouzoud, Ait Ben Haddou and the dunes of Merzouga. The faces that recur belong to travellers who agreed to be photographed.
If you are planning a trip, these images are most useful for judging the atmosphere and the season. The green of the valleys is spring, the low light on the dunes is sunrise and sunset, and the crowd on the square is nightfall.
