Adil is a government-certified guide, born in Marrakech, who works in English, French and Arabic. He takes one group at a time, his own, and leads every tour himself. This page explains who he is, what he guides, and how to book him.
A local guide, not an agency
Marrakech Eye Tours is the name Adil works under. There is no call centre and no pool of subcontracted guides: the person who answers your message is the person who meets you at your riad. If he is not available on your dates, he says so rather than passing you to someone else.
He was born in Marrakech and spent part of his childhood in its streets. He later took a degree in English literature, a business English diploma and a master’s in tourism in the United Kingdom, then twenty-five years in the travel industry as a hotel sales manager, a general manager and a tourism consultant, before guiding became the work itself.
Languages
Tours run in English, French or Arabic, whichever suits your group. Adil is not translating from a script: he studied English literature and worked for years in international hotels, so the register adapts to who is listening, whether that is a couple, a family with young children or a group of specialists.
What the state licence means
Adil holds licence number 2706, issued by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism. It is worth understanding why that matters. Unlicensed guides are common around Jemaa el-Fna and the main gates of the medina. They are not allowed inside the monuments, they earn from the shops they take you to rather than from you, and if something goes wrong there is nobody to complain to.
A licensed guide is registered, insured, admitted to the historic sites, and answerable to the authority that issued the licence. Ask any guide for their card. Adil’s number is written above, and on his Tripadvisor listing.

Booking
How to book your guide in Marrakech
- Write with your dates, how many of you there are, and roughly what interests you. WhatsApp is the quickest route, the form and email work too.
- Adil replies himself, usually the same day, with a suggested route and a price for your group.
- You adjust anything you want. Nothing is committed until you agree, and there is no deposit to pay online.
- He meets you at your riad, your hotel or an agreed point in the medina, on the day, and payment is settled in person.
Walking tours in Marrakech can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the meeting time. Day trips and multi-day tours depend on the bookings already made with accommodation providers, and the terms appear on your quote before any payment.
Questions people ask before booking
How much does a private guide in Marrakech cost?
It depends on the season, the length of the day and how many of you there are, which is why no fixed price is published here. One tour has a public price because it is sold through Tripadvisor. For everything else, send your dates and you get a figure before you commit to anything.
Will we be in a group with strangers?
No. Every tour is private. There is no minimum number, no shared coach and no flag to follow.
Can Adil guide in French as well as English?
Yes, and in Arabic. Tell him which language you prefer when you write.
Do you take us to shops for commission?
No. If you want to buy something, Adil takes you to workshops he knows and negotiates with you. If you do not, shopping simply is not part of the day.
Are the entrance fees included?
The quote states it line by line, so you know before you pay. Monument tickets, transport, meals and activities are each listed as included or not.
How far ahead should we book?
A few days is usually enough outside the busy months. For Easter, October and the end of December, write earlier. Adil takes one group at a time, so a date is either free or it is not.
